Supporting high-stakes, determining projects

Grand Est Développement supports regional high-stakes, determining projects, to encourage sustainable economic growth and boost the attractiveness of the Grand Est region.

Determining projects

The region’s high-stakes, determining projects are in keeping with regional policy and have a significant and long-lasting impact on economic development and competitiveness. In supporting the transformation of a local area, they play a key role in building its future. The success of these projects is dependent on close cooperation between the various public institutions on different scales and private stakeholders. Grand Est Développement can get involved beforehand in developing and adapting the projects, or in their actual implementation.

The Réseau Commande Publique Grand Est

The Réseau Commande Publique Grand Est (Grand Est Public Procurement Network) was initiated by the Grand Est region and the government, and is both led and coordinated by Grand Est Développement. This network of local operators was founded by the region, the government, chambers of commerce and economic development agencies. The goal is to turn public procurement into a driver of economic recovery and development. To do so, the network leads awareness-raising initiatives, publishes instruments, provides top-level information and sets up meetings between public purchasers and companies.

Grand Est Cybersécurité

Grand Est Développement leads Grand Est Cybersécurité, the regional centre for assisting victims of cyber attacks, which contributes to cyber-resilience in the Grand Est. This regional CSIRT is managed by Grand Est Développement and led by the Grand Est region, with support from the French National Agency for the Security of Information Systems (ANSSI). It can be reached on +33 (0)970 51 25 25, and works with SMEs, intermediate-sized companies, local authorities, public establishments and associations in the Grand Est region.

Regional sectors and projects

Grand Est Développement is involved in the organisation of strategic sectors in the region, either for new businesses looking to settle there or to help existing companies develop their business. The goal is to boost the region’s industrial value chains and develop determining and collaborative projects. Since the agency was created, seven of these missions have been completed, including the characterisation of the lithium sector in 2023. It is also involved in partnerships with local authorities to support local operators in developing strategic and determining projects.

Project establishment and funding

Grand Est Développement drives and supports the creation of complex and determining projects, high-stakes partnerships involving multiple partners, by getting both regional companies and regional, national and European partners and financers involved. This activity includes a wide range of projects, from European projects to support (including funding) for endogenous projects.
